Meet Sahara Sintayo-Obende

Sahara Sintayo-Obende is an Ethiopian chef. She infuses a combination of the knowledge of spice, flavor, travel and Ethiopian heritage to inspire her cooking. Sahara learnt everything she knows about Ethiopian cooking from her childhood, as her mother diligently taught her and her siblings the secret intricacies of Ethiopian cuisine.

As an ode to her motherland and the love for her country’s cuisine, culture and lifestyle, Sahara shares the Ethiopian experiences through a pop-up restaurant and lifestyle brand called; Memories of Ethiopia.’

Beyond the preparation of Ethiopian cuisine, she is vast in the art and act of selecting, preparing and combining the best choice of herbs, spices and butters.

Through her brand, Memories of Ethiopia, Sahara has catered to people across different walks of life.

Sahara has her educational background in Economics and Computer Science. She has has over a decade experience in advertising and branding.

Sahara was born and bred in Kenya. She lives in Lagos, Nigeria with her husband and son.
